Celebrity Golf Day 2016

We are happy to announce our Celebrity Golf day for it’s 5th year again takes place at the beautiful RICHMOND GOLF CLUB at Sudbrook Park, Petersham on Friday 22nd April.

One way in which you could help us enable more young artists to realise their potential is to support our Golf Day on 22nd April, either by entering a team of 3 to play with a celebrity, entering your own team of 4, or entering as an individual player (and we’ll fit you into a team).

New opportunity to join our team as a Project Manager Trainee!

Creative Youth, organisers of the International Youth Arts Festival, are looking for two energetic, organised and reliable Project Management Trainees to help deliver a new project, Roots, whilst learning the essential skills of Project Management in the Arts sector.

Roots is dynamic project that celebrates and showcases storytelling.  It will enable schools and community groups to celebrate personal stories, family and local history through spoken word, beat-boxing, music and visual arts and culminate during the International Youth Arts Festival 2016. The project is a partnership between Creative Youth, Lyrix Organix and On The Record and is funded by Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and Awards for All.

The Project Management Trainees will need to have a keen interest and passion for developing a career in the Arts. The duties of the role will include the following areas but please note, the trainees will be supervised and monitored at all times throughout the project and adhere to a development programme.

  •       Liaison and communication with activity partners
  •       Project planning
  •       Scheduling and logistics
  •       Recording meetings
  •       Event management and delivery
  •       Creating and managing databases
  •       Marketing, including print, social media and online
  •       Risk Management
  •       Project Evaluation

Although the trainees will primarily be working on Roots  they will also be required to undertake other tasks as required by Creative Youth and the International Youth Arts Festival.

Essential Skills/ Attributes

  •       An organised and efficient manner
  •       Punctual
  •       Keen interest and passion in the Arts
  •       Good verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Skills/ Attributes

  •       Good problem solving skills
  •       Experience of working or participating in arts projects/environment
  •       Interest in heritage and history

This role is suitable for a recent graduate, undergraduate or early career individual with a desire to gain more experience in this field.

Dates:  The project will run from March 2016 – September 2016.

Wage: £2,800.00 per person (inclusive of all expenses) for a total of 56 days each across 7 months, approximately 2 days per week.

It’s Competition Time! Enter our Schools Poster Design Competition and win for you and your school!

The International Youth Arts Festival, Kingston (IYAF) turns eight in 2016 and to celebrate we are launching our first ever schools poster design competition sponsored by St George. The winning design will become part of the official poster for the 2016 festival and will also feature on a range of merchandise. The top 3 entrants will also receive 5 complimentary tickets to the opening night of the International Youth Arts Festival, Kingston at the Rose Theatre in July 2016.

All shortlisted posters will also go on display for a special exhibition during the International Youth Arts Festival, Kingston in July and the winners and their schools will receive a cash prize.

Prizes:

1st Place – design featured on all posters and on a range of merchandise, £75 for the pupil and £150 for the school and 5 tickets to the opening night of IYAF, Kingston

Runners up (x2): £25 for the pupil and £75 for the school and 5 tickets for the opening night of IYAF, Kingston
