Creative Youth, organisers of the International Youth Arts Festival, are looking for two energetic, organised and reliable Project Management Trainees to help deliver a new project, Roots, whilst learning the essential skills of Project Management in the Arts sector.
Roots is dynamic project that celebrates and showcases storytelling. It will enable schools and community groups to celebrate personal stories, family and local history through spoken word, beat-boxing, music and visual arts and culminate during the International Youth Arts Festival 2016. The project is a partnership between Creative Youth, Lyrix Organix and On The Record and is funded by Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery Fund and Awards for All.
The Project Management Trainees will need to have a keen interest and passion for developing a career in the Arts. The duties of the role will include the following areas but please note, the trainees will be supervised and monitored at all times throughout the project and adhere to a development programme.
- Liaison and communication with activity partners
- Project planning
- Scheduling and logistics
- Recording meetings
- Event management and delivery
- Creating and managing databases
- Marketing, including print, social media and online
- Risk Management
- Project Evaluation
Although the trainees will primarily be working on Roots they will also be required to undertake other tasks as required by Creative Youth and the International Youth Arts Festival.

This role is suitable for a recent graduate, undergraduate or early career individual with a desire to gain more experience in this field.
Dates: The project will run from March 2016 – September 2016.
Wage: £2,800.00 per person (inclusive of all expenses) for a total of 56 days each across 7 months, approximately 2 days per week.
