Creative Youth competitions now open!

We have 3 exciting competitions now open:

60 SECOND FILM COMPETITION
Calling all young film-makers. The International Youth Arts Festival 2017 is calling for submissions to its 60 Second Cinema competition, in partnership with O2 and Go Think Big.

We’re looking for films of no more than 60 seconds on the subject of ‘Home.’  A selection of the best entries will be screened at the festival on the 9th July, followed by an award ceremony in the Rose Theatre Studio.

Films of any style or genre will be considered, and can be created using pro equipment or just a smartphone.

So unleash your imagination and start filming. The films can be comedies, silent, action, animation – anything. As long as it is no longer than 60 seconds.

Entrants must be 26 or under on 9th July 2017.

SCHOOLS ALBUM ARTWORK COMPETITION
We are launching a schools competition to design the cover artwork for an album being produced as part of Kingston RPM. Featuring music from our gig day and oral testimonies from the project, the album will showcase the musical heritage uncovered by the project, and we need your help to design a cover that reflects this. The winning design will become the official cover for the album.

All shortlisted album covers will go on display at the Rose Theatre, as part of the Kingston RPM exhibition. (NB – the exhibition opens on the 16th June and will run until the 9th September. The shortlisted designs will be on display in the exhibition after the 24th July 2017. More information about how to apply here.

SEA STORIES DESIGN COMPETITION
To celebrate the ocean theme of the International Youth Arts Festival’s Gala performance, we are launching a design competition for under 11s, with a unique prize.

Entrants are being asked to imagine a new sea creature that has been discovered deep in the tropical oceans, and the best design will be made into a one-off cuddly toy to keep. The winner will also receive four VIP tickets to our Gala Performance of Sea Stories on 13th July and the chance to meet some very special celebrity guests and patrons.
