Genesis – Foxtrot (1972)

Eloise Bradbury

Reigate Grammar School, aged 13

This wasn’t my favourite album. I thought almost all the songs felt really hectic and tense. It made me feel a bit uneasy and  almost a bit angry! The song, “Watcher of the Skies” has a long organ introduction that gave it a bit of a cosmic/ space feel.

However, there was one song called ”Horizons” which I found soothing and calming and I feel like I recognise it from a ballet dance I did! I really liked this one because it had a really nice melody and was different from the other songs.

I found the album cover slightly weird and a bit surreal too, as it’s a fox dancing in red dress! But I think it is this because the album name is foxtrot named after the ballroom dance.
