It has been a pleasure to work alongside WOM Collective this year as our Community in Residence (funded by the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Community Resilience Fund).
Having identified a need for affordable spaces for creatives to come together and work with communities, we launched this programme in FUSEBOX and have since witnessed the collective engage in a wide range of activites including paint jams, group murals and their final exhibition, ROOTED: A Street Art Journey into Nature.
WOM Collective are a grassroots organisation of London based female artists, passionate about inspiring and empowering each other and our communities. Over the years, the collective has proudly been a part of numerous community projects, touching the lives of children, teens, and adults alike.
“Street art has had a profound and transformational impact on many of us, increasing our confidence, helping us build strong networks and new career pathways. We want to pay this forward. Join us in continuing this beautiful journey together. Let’s create a brighter future through art and community.”
This past year, WOM Collective have committed to supporting communities and young people. Creative Youth is delighted to have built such a fantastic relationship with WOM, whilst offering the collective support and advice in key areas such a fundraising and establishing connections within the borough.
