Artist Event Call-Out

Do you make art, craft, or creative work and want to take part in an interactive, community-driven event? Creative Youth is looking for artists aged 16–30 to participate in the Marketplace of Ideas, a free, immersive day at Kingston’s Market House on Saturday 1st November 2025.

Visitors will receive a theme or idea inspired by Kingston’s market heritage – their ticket – and exchange it with you, the artist, who will transform it into artwork in 10–20 minutes. Visitors can also swap your small artworks with other artists on the day to create new pieces.

At the end of the day, visitors may take the work home or leave it behind to contribute to a ‘Memory Board’, a collaborative installation created by artists, visitors, and the Creative Youth team throughout the event.

We’re looking for artists who:

  • Are excited to collaborate with other artists and the public
  • Work in any visual or creative medium
  • Are inspired by heritage, cultural placemaking and community

Key Details:

  • Artists will receive a £210 fee, plus £50 materials allowance, payable by invoice after the event.
  • Date: Saturday 1 November 2025
  • Location: Kingston’s Market House
  • Stalls: 8 artists per day, spaces are limited

Attendance: artists must be available from 10am – 5pm on Saturday 1 November.

Please note: this is a de-commercialised event—artists may not sell work on the day. Instead, we’re creating a new kind of marketplace, built on exchanging ideas, collaboration, and community.
