We are delighted to present our February open call exhibition, Underworld!
How can we bring the unseen to light? The hidden, the forgotten, and the immaterial have long captured our imaginations by existing in the margins of reality or concealed in shadow. Often, the dark is seen as something to fear — yet within it lies mystery, potential, and truths waiting to emerge.
Underworld invites visual artists across all disciplines and backgrounds to explore the beast beneath the boards, what is emerging, lies beyond or within. Whether it’s unearthing underground movements, amplifying unheard voices, uncovering mystical realms, or confronting the nightmarish, this exhibition seeks works that illuminate the unknown.
Through this exhibition, we challenge you to bring the intangible to form, to expose what is buried, and to celebrate what is overlooked. How can we visualise what resists the eye? How can we transform fear of the dark into curiosity? Join us in revealing the mysteries of the Underworld—a space where the forgotten is remembered, the hidden is discovered, and the unseen takes centre stage!
This exhibition will run alongside the Kingston Light Trail in February. Public Opening Hours have been temporarily changed for this reason.
