We offer a number of opportunities to gain experience and make new connections

This includes helping with events such as FUSE International and our year-round programme of projects and community activities.  

Volunteer with us

Volunteers are vital to everything we do and the skills, energy and enthusiasm which our volunteers bring to every event and opportunity are key to our work as a charity. Many of our volunteers come to us with little or no experience of the arts and for many, it has become a life-changing experience.

We have a fantastic core team of volunteers, which increases to more than 100 volunteers during FUSE International every summer. These teams work on a multitude of projects and form a brilliant network of volunteers who share skills and experience with one another. Volunteers can carry out a number of roles throughout the year, especially during the festival, and receive training and mentoring as required.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time will I need to give?
It’s up to you. In the months before the Festival it could be an hour every fortnight or a few days in a row. During the festival it could be a few hours each day or a full-on ten days.

Are there restrictions on who can perform these roles, e.g. mobility, age, etc.?
We are fully inclusive. Most of our venues and our office have full access. Volunteers must be 16+

I’m interested. What next?
All volunteers are required to complete an informal interview with our Volunteer Manager. This is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have and understand the roles that you will be involved in. It also helps us to match your skills and interests to tasks that best suit you.

We provide a range of flexible volunteering opportunities with shifts available during the week, at weekends and at evenings.
