Ellen Lilley
Ellen Lilley is a Geordie comedian who won the International Youth Arts Award for ‘Best Comedy’ for her performance in ‘Sassy Stand Up’ at the Rose Theatre Kingston. Mentored and performed alongside ‘Funny Woman’ winner Thanyia Moore she has also performed apart of Soho Young Theatre Company. Reviewed as ‘open minded and seriously funny’ by London Theatre – she covers all the ups and downs of being a young female millennial in the city. You can find her on the London circuit and keep up to date with her performances with on all social media at @ellenlilley

Thanyia Moore
Thanyia is an actress, comedian, writer and presenter from London. In 2017 she joined the likes of Katherine Ryan, Andi Osho, Sarah Millican, Miss London Hughes, and Desiree Birch when she was crowned Funny Women Champion, Beating over 400 women in the process. She has been performing comedy since 2012 and is affectionately known as one of the hardest working comedians on the circuit. She is one of the only females in the UK who works both the mainstream and Black comedy scenes simultaneously. This position was cemented when she reached the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Award in 2018.

Maisie Adam
Maisie Adam is a young female comedian from Yorkshire. Having only started on the circuit in 2016, her anecdotal material and self-deprecating charm have quickly won her praise up and down the country. ​After previewing her first stand-up show “Living On The Edge” at the Ilkley Fringe and it not going horrendously, she then took the debut show on tour to theatres, festivals and comedy nights across the UK. After receiving positive reviews from runs at Bath Comedy Festival, Hastings Fringe Comedy Festival, Southend Fringe and Guildford Fringe, the show was nominated for Best New Comedy at the 2017 Brighton Fringe.

 

So You Wanna get funding

There are many challenges facing freelance artists and companies and we are aware that now more than ever, there is the need for advice when it comes to funding and fundraising for projects. This session will provide a step–by–step guide on how to tackle funding for yourself or your company and will talk through the specific Arts Council application process. –

About Emma Kendall
Emma is an arts fundraiser, currently working as Development Manager at Clean Break. She previously worked in fundraising at the Orange Tree Theatre, and as a freelance Producer and Assistant Producer. She is passionate about championing new work; the social impact of arts engagement and cultural learning; and representation on and off stage. She is a Trustee of NSDF and Creative Youth.

About Maya Ellis
Maya Ellis is a theatre producer. Her credits include In My Lungs The Ocean Swells (Vaults – Origins Award Winner), Kill Climate Deniers and Ali and Dahlia (The Pleasance), Whalebone (Edinburgh Festival Fringe), Moonfleece (The Pleasance), How The Vote Was Won (The Bunker), Byron: Angel and Outcast (Cadogan Hall with Simon Russel Beale and Kazakhstan tour), and Stop and Search (Arcola). She has also worked at multiple venues including Arcola Theatre and Finborough Theatre. Maya Ellis currently works for SummerHall in Edinburgh, no more superheroes and Clean Break.
